Meet Kate, Your Trainer

Chances are if you're on this page, you love your dog and want to understand them better. Let me help you live calmly and confidently with your beloved companion. 

I started Gentle Leash Dog Training because I've been fascinated with dog training since 2014 when a dog came into my life and changed it forever. He taught me so much and started me on my dog training journey. 

 I have been providing dog training and education through a local shelter since 2021 and pursue ongoing education by regularly attending professional development workshops and keeping current on all industry literature. I am passionate about helping dogs thrive in our modern world. 

I have completed my Cert IV in Animal Companion Services through the Delta Institute and am a professional member of the Pet Professional Guild Australia (PPGA).

    No quick fixes

    If you are looking for a quick fix for a complex behavioural issue, I am not the trainer for you. Genuine improvement often comes from your ongoing commitment to the training process. You will need to be open to trying different strategies to help your dog succeed in the way that works best for them. 


      The techniques I use are fear free, positive reinforcement strategies. I work with you and your dog to understand the root cause of a behavioural concern, using behaviour modification and environmental enrichment to help your dog cope better with their modern-day life. I use these techniques because they ensure the bond between human and animal is strengthened and builds confidence and trust in your dog.
